Let’s Play Cars

Let’s Play Cars, a collaborative piece with Marcus Rubio, is a mobile installation piece which utilizes the audience’s own cars in creating sound and music. Contact mics are attached to the car, and their signal is filtered through PD and other synth programs. The result is broadcast via FM radio back into the audience members car. This gives the audience member complete control of the resulting musical number, including being able to create their own feedback. The music is simultaneously broadcast to any other car in range, allowing people to hear the creations of others.

Originally performed at Mullholland Derive, Let’s Play Cars is continually evolving to create a more immersive and interactive experience.
